Monday Blahs...Or does it have to always be this way?

Mondays..is the first day of the work week and I do not know about you, but it almost seems like we can all get out of sink when it comes to starting the first day of the week. For many, it seems like everything goes wrong that could go wrong and we are are like 'Great!" this is not how I want to start my week. I think a lot of times we blame it on "Its Monday" and it all goes down hill from there. But what if there was a way to not have that one day of the week, where just everything goes wrong? I have found that after a weekend, my mind can sometimes still be set on "Weekend time" and it flows over to Monday. So, instead of having "weekend flow over" take some time to get things ready for the work week Sunday afternoon. Get that outfit laid out, go grocery shopping, make a list of meal plans, list what are the top priorities for that week and list mini goals that will give you a clear plan in how to go about succeeding for the week. After all, it certainly feels better to have a plan ahead of time to tackle the week. I always instruct my clients to make a checklist-as a visual aid, as sometimes when we keep everything in our head, it just gets boggled around and may not work out as we planned,

But then you might add, but Dr. Jen, I did my planning and when I got to work, my Co-worker was "having a bad Monday." So then I simply ask, is it your responsibility to make sure your co-worker has a good day? I usually get hmms and haws..then I put it a different way "Is it your Co-workers' responsibility to make sure you are happy and are having a productive day?" I usually get No way, why would it be my co-workers responsibility to make sure that I will have a good day. So think about that. As I always say "the only person you can control 100% is yourself." So it may not be the perfect Monday, because others might have the Monday Blues, but it is your choice to not fall into that, by being prepared for the week prior.

If you would like to schedule an appointment to help lessen the Monday Blahs and be in better control of your work week, contact me so we can get all the bugs worked out and make you shine at your place of work.
